Stuttgart Train Station A3 Areal
Growing Together – Rosenstein Vibes
Innovation and Nature
Our design combines Stuttgart's technological innovations with the natural beauty of the region. The modular design of our buildings reflects the gentle hills and picturesque vineyards that shape the cityscape.
This vast "green valley" consists of terraced gardens and greenhouses, harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape. The interior of the building is an open, flowing space that connects people in all directions. There are entrances on various levels to the train station, public squares, and subway station. This creates a vibrant community for both residents and visitors, with markets, reading corners, exhibitions, performances, and family areas. The entire complex is constructed from sustainable wood and offers flexible, open spaces.
This project serves as a link between the city center and the new district, resembling more of an urban landscape than a traditional building.
City and Community
Through versatile usage options, a dynamic meeting point is created, bringing together different people.
The terraced gardens and greenhouses will be managed by the citizens themselves. These green oases offer flexible work and learning spaces, meeting the modern need for mobile working environments. In good weather, events can be held on the rooftops, and the open spaces invite people to linger. Inside, there are open floors with areas for reading, learning, working, playing, relaxing, and childcare facilities. The internal marketplace focuses on culinary experiences, offering a food lab, food trucks, and stalls with coffee and other delicacies. A flexible black-box theater can be converted into a sports hall or exhibition space. The large staircase to the south serves as an open-air theater, where performances can be enjoyed, and the fountain square becomes a paradise for children in the summer.
Life and Emotions
Our goal is to create a new urban lifestyle that connects emotions. The building is both spectacular and iconic, while also emotionally resonant and grounded in everyday life.
We want to reshape neighborhood relationships. Fruits and vegetables from the roof will be processed locally and offered to visitors. Rainwater and kitchen waste will be recycled. Food, as a universal language, brings people from different regions and cultures together. Creative restaurants and food stalls cater to both travelers and locals. Regular events like the "Rosenstein International Food Festival" and the "Rosenstein Market Art Season" showcase the diversity and inclusivity of Stuttgart.
